27th SciFY Academy: STEAM Education
How Interdisciplinarity and Art transform the learning experience

One of the hottest topics at the moment in the field of education is STEM Education and not unfairly. But what about Art? Can Art find a place within the STEM education? Yes. And that's exactly what the 27th SciFY Academy is about: "STEAM Education | How Interdisciplinarity and Art transform the learning experience". On Wednesday, 19th of December, we organized the last SciFY Academy Seminar of the year at INNOVATHENS, where teachers and students of various scientific fields and arts had the opportunity to learn that Art can be integrated into a STEM Education program while enhancing its results.

Initially, Mr. Aris Mavromatis from STEM Education Organization laid the groundwork for our discussion, talking about the basic STEM principles and how to integrate into formal and informal education programs, presenting the implemented educational actions of STEM Education Organization. Also, Mr. Mavromatis explained to us the role of Art in these programs and proved us to be an integral part of science.

Then Mr. Apostolos Papanikolaou from the Herakleidon Museum showed us how we can combine sciences such as Mathematics with Art through applied examples. While referring to a very successful training program that is already in progress.
